Private Patrons
We enjoyed another excellent occasion in 2011, when the speaker
was the Rt. Hon. Dominic Grieve, Q.C., M.P., the Attorney-General,
who attends Cabinet. We are honoured that he has become a Vice-President
of the Association, and that Lord Cormack, upon his translation to the
Lords, is continuing as our Parliamentary Vice-President.
Patrons of parochial Benefices may belong to the Association, as a number already do. The Patrons Consultative Group, of which the E.C.A. is a constituent part, has organised meetings and advice for Patrons. Patrons are again invited to St. Giles-in-the-Fields at 2p.m. on Monday 14th May 2012 for the Association's annual gathering of like-minded Church people. There is a Prayer Book Communion Service at 12.45p.m., and (reserved by contacting The Reverend John Masding in advance) a buffet lunch. There is no charge, but those who can, have made donations in the past.
The speaker for 2008 was the Bishop of London, our Patron, and for 2009 were equally fortunate in welcoming the Bishop of Rochester and Double Jeopardy: Secularism, Militant Islam and Christian Faith, and another excellent occasion to which Members and Patrons were able to bring friends with great confidence in 2011, when the speaker was the Rt. Hon. Dominic Grieve, Q.C., M.P., the Attorney-General, who attends Cabinet.
